TurboBridge & Blackberry

We’re all mobile these days and one of the most frustrating things is trying to dial into a conference bridge while on the the road.  Looking up the number and then trying to dial the conference bridge number and then trying to remember the actual conference ID itself.

At TurboBridge, we thought about that for you and designed our service to be mobile “friendly”. Traditionally audio conference providers ask you to send our your invitation classically “Access Number (800)-555-1212 Conference ID 3848484”.  But this type of invite doesn’t mean anything to your Blackberry.

To enable single dial-in from your Blackberry, be sure to format your invitations as follows:

+1.805.309.2350 x848484#

Where “8484.” is your conference ID. Blackberry sees this as a hyperlink and it enables you to single-click on it. Blackberry will dial the number, pause and send out the conference ID with the “#” as well. As the host you can use a similar format “+1.805.309.2350 x848484*1234#” and have your Blackberry dial and input both the conference ID and host PIN all with one single click.

TurboBridge, we’re working to make things easier for you.

Money back guarantee – well almost

We keep abreast of what our competitors are up to and I recently stumbled upon one, who I shall leave best unnamed, who detailed that their money back guarantee only applied if all parties hung up on within the first 5 minutes of their conference call. I was left wondering what if you encountered a problem an hour into your conference call. The competitor then went on to describe in tortuous detail how you went about getting your ‘money back’.

At TurboBridge, we want you to be happy and more importantly we want to be easy to do business with. We offer a full unconditional 30-day money back guarantee. This means if you sign up for service and for whatever reason you are not happy (could be your dog shed on your couch and that upset you), we will refund 100% of of your money, no questions asked, no pesky customer service rep trying to ‘help’ you not get your money back.

With TurboBridge, you can cancel on-line at any time for any reason, no sales person to deal with, no phones calls to make and no faxing of ‘signed’ documents to ‘confirm’ your request.  As easy as it was to sign-up, you can just as easily cancel your account.

We hope, of course, you never cancel your account, but more importantly we want you to be happy. TurboBridge — it’s not just about audio conferencing, it’s about service.

Music on-hold during a conference bothering you?

If you’ve been on enough conference calls (and you have), you’ve experienced this at least once and I’m sure you’re gonna remember it. You’re on a conference call, bunch of people and as usually a handful are actively talking and the rest are listening.  One of the listeners gets another phone call or is interrupted and puts the call on hold.

Suddenly everyone on the conference bridge gets to enjoy whatever Music On Hold that person’s company PBX decides to play (usually something annoying or sickly sweet — why is that?). The conference grinds to a halt as the remaining participants try to figure out who the offender is and often no clue what to do. Usually after a few minutes, the offender slides back into the conference call, thinking they won’t have been missed and oops, they’re greeting with some steely comments from those who’ve had to endure the MOH.

But what could you have done?

With TurboBridge, the host can easily switch the conference to Question & Answer mode using the command ‘*43’. Q&A mode mutes everyone but the host and allows a participant to ‘unmute’ themselves by pressing ‘*6’. Thus  the offender is silenced, the remaining participants can enter ‘*6’ and the conference can continue If the host is using the TurboBridge Conference Manager, even easier, they can identify the offender and simply mute their line.

So don’t let some mishap ruin your conference call, using a few TurboBridge features, you’ll in command of your bridge and can continue on your way!
